Spring/ Summer Nail Polishes

So finally, my exams are all over, and I have plenty of free time now to blog and to do what I enjoy most!

So as a quick post today, I thought I would write about my favourite nail polishes for the Spring/ Summer season, as well as details are where to find them, if I manage to remember where!

1. The Corals

Coral is definitely my favourite colour for this season, as I think it firstly really compliments a tan, and also compliments the shades of clothes that I want to wear for the summer time.

-Barry M Nail Paint in 296 Coral - bought for £2.99
- Leticia Well Nail Polish in Colour 516 - bought for  1

2. The Orange Shades

I love orange nail polishes, as firstly orange is one of my favourite colours, but also I think it works really well in the summer due to its bright, sunny tones.

- Rimmel 60 Second Nail Polish in 403 Orgasm.
-Ciate Mini Nail Polish in PP106 Hopscotch
-Leticia Well Nail Polish in Colour 493

3. The Pastels

LIEBSTER AWARD: Samantha Natalie

Hello everyone, so I checked my blog yesterday evening and to my surprise I found that I had been nominated for the Liebster Award by the lovely Aoife Marie. The award is basically for lesser known blogs to get noticed, so I feel really privileged that I have been nominated so thank you! Nominees, your questions are at the bottom of the page!

These are the rules for the award:

The Rules:
  1. You must link back to the person who nominated you.
  2. You must answer the 11 questions given to you by the nominee before you.
  3. You must list 11 random/fun facts about yourself.
  4. You must pick 11 nominees with under 200 (or 2000 if you want to go with that) followers to answer your questions
  5. You cannot nominate the person who nominated you.
  6. You must let the people you nominate know they have been nominated.
So here are my questions set by Aoife:

1.  What inspires you to blog? : The reason that I am inspired to blog is basically that beauty and fashion are my main interests, to put it bluntly. But going into detail with it, I have never really been sure what career I want to pursue in life, but beauty and fashion are things that have stayed a constant interest throughout the whole of my life, sure like every one I have had style crisises through my early teens, but even then fashion has been one of my loves.
2.  What is the meaning behind you blog name? Unfortunately this probably is the most unexciting answer ever but my blog name is my first name Samantha, and my middle name Natalie. I'm sorry for such a boring answer!
3.  If you had to live with only one beauty/makeup product for the rest of you life what would it be and why? Hmm this is quite a tricky one but if i had to I would probably pick a good foundation like my trusty Body Shop ones, as I think you can get away with putting just a tiny bit of foundation on to even out your complexion and not bother with anything else!
4.  What country would you like to visit and why? Okay, this is a weird one but I would absolutely love to visit the Galapagos Islands, I know that sounds crazy but since I found out about it, with the huge turtles, I've always wanted to go there!
5.  What Bloggers do you look up to? Oo well initially before blogging I watched bloggers on youtube and I started with Zoella, but moved on to the blogs of Beautycrush, wh0se style I absolutely love , and Fleur de Force, as I just love her personality. But my favourite at the moment has to be Fashion Rocks My Socks, as I think her sense of style is quite similar to mine.
6.  Describe your sense of style? I'd say I have quite a classic sense of style, as I love my basic pieces like big plain or stripy t-shirts tucked in to a pair of skinny jeans. But I love adding quite 'indie', pieces along with it.
7.  What are your favourite clothing shops? My favourite clothing shops at the moment have to be Zara, ASOS, Urban Outfitters, and Schuh.
8.  What is your dream job? As I said before, I have no clue what I want to do when I am older but I would say my dream job would be a professional make up artist.
9.  What is your favourite book and why? My favourite book would be The Lost Symbol by Dan Brown, it is a long read but I found it so intense and exciting, I literally couldn't put it down. I'm a big fan of the author as well.
10.  If you won €1,ooo what would you spend it on? I'll change this to pounds for me haha, but if I won £1000, I would definitely go shopping with my friends, even though really I should be saving for driving oops!
11.  Have you ever been to Ireland? No unfortunately, I have never been to Ireland, but I have always wanted to go to see the Giant's Causeway.
11 Facts about me!
  1. I am 16 years of age.
  2. I am also have a twin called Beth, but we are not identical.
  3. Weirdly mine and Beth's boyfriends are both called Tom.
  4. My favourite foods are any type of pasta, pies, or chocolate cakes.
  5. My least favourite foods are any types of fish, and butter.
  6. My favourite drink of all time is Pepsi Max.
  7. The best holiday I have been on so far was to Florida.
  8. My favourite animal has to be the elephant.
  9. I have phobias of clowns, ventriloquist dolls, and spiders, ew!
  10. I used to have naturally straight hair, but it has changes with age to become naturally very curly.
  11. My favourite TV shows are Made in Chelsea, New Girl, The Mindy Project, The Inbetweeners and Game of Thrones.
Okay now for the interesting part, my Nominees!!

Summer Haul!

So once again unfortunately I've been rather absent from my blog due to the little annoyance of my AS level exams, how irritating! But finally I have found my self with the time to actually sit down and write, something I've been wanting to do for weeks now!

So as Spring is here, and Summer is (hopefully) on its way I've been doing some shopping over the last few weeks or maybe even months, to pick pieces either for my holiday or just for summer in general.

So first up, yesterday I went to Primark and picked up a stripy, boyfriend style t-shirt for the absolutely ridiculous price of £3.50! Unfortunately, Primark was extremely busy so I abandoned shopping there except for some DC comic socks which I thought were rather cool for £2.50, and some gold midi rings, for £1.50.

After this, I decided I would be rather brave and pick up something in a colour that I would never usually wear, not because I don't like it, but usually I tend to be safe and stick to muted tones such as navy blue or burgundy, so I decided for summer, I wanted to step out of my comfort zone. After this decision, I went in to Warehouse and found this green button up cami, with thin straps in a pattern. I thought this would be perfect for my holiday this year due to its light weight flowy material, and also I thought the pattern of the straps may create quite a interesting tan line! I picked this up for what I believe was £20.

Along with this on a trip to boots, I came across the 3 for 2 offer, and as usual, I couldn't resist. So I picked up an uninteresting gel liner, from Maybelline, but for the summer I found 2 nail polishes, the first a classic coral shade from Barry M, in the number 296 Coral, and also in Rimmel's new Rita Ora collection a bright orange shade, in the number 403, strangely named Orgasm. I loved these two colours and thought they'd look great if I eventually get a tan.

Additionally, on a previous shopping trip to Primark, I found some flippy shorts, in black, white and blue  for my holiday, I really like the pattern on these and I picked them up for around £4 or £5 I believe.

On a previous shopping trip to London, in the Oxford Street Urban Outfitters, I found this BDG cropped stripy top, with rolled up three quarter length sleeves, and a pocket detail. For around £25. When buying this I thought it would be really useful for when the weather isn't quite warm enough to go with short sleeves (as it often is in England!), but I still want quite a thin, short top.

So that is all that I have bought recently! Plus i must apologise for the mess of my room in the backgrounds of some these photos I'm terrible! Anyways, thanks for reading, I'm glad to be back, and as always please feel free to comment anything you like!

Love,

Review: Tea Tree Pore Minimiser (The Body Shop)

I bought this product on a trip to Covent Garden with friends, and after using up any primers that I had left I was on the look out for a new one that I hadn't tried before. After wandering around the Body Shop for ages as usual, my friend Chloe pointed out this pore minimiser and primer to me as she had tried this before and loved it.

When seeing this product I was instantly interested, as I have often felt self conscious about visible pores around my nose and sometimes on my cheeks, when wearing a foundation with a medium to heavy coverage. So when I saw a primer with these pore minimising properties I was instantly sold. Also, after chatting to the sales assistant she pointed me to an offer where the primer (£7.50) came along with a small bottle of tea tree oil for just £10, which I thought was really good value.

When first trying out this product I was instantly impressed. For the best results I used this after cleansing, toning, and moisturising, just before my makeup. Well the same as any primer really haha! When first putting it on my face my skin felt instantly refreshed from the tea tree, and the texture was extremely smooth, it just glided on! I think that however the most positive property of this product however, is the non oily consistency, I have often found with primers that there can be a almost sticky residue left over but with this one, it instantly sunk in to the skin, which I though was extremely good.

The one and only downside or negative that I can think about this product is the appearance of the primer itself, as it is a strange creamy yellow colour, which isn't the nicest! However really this is it irrelevant as it quickly sinks in to the skin leaving a transparent finish so overall there aren't any negatives that I can think of!

So overall I would definitely recommend this product to anyone, especially those with combination or oily skin, it works a treat! Also I think at just £7.50 it is great value for money so I'd definitely give it a try!

Thank you reading, and please feel free to comment on your opinions of this product, I'm really interested to hear you views! Also if there are any suggestions or products that you want me to review I would be more than happy to do so.

Review of Rimmel Match Perfection- Light Perfecting Radiance Foundation

I bought this foundation as a impulse buy really, after running out of my trusty bodyshop products. I had heard the good reviews from many bloggers about this foundation and I thought I'd give it a go! The price of this was relatively cheap at around £9 in comparison to my previous foundations which were around £15.

When I first applied the foundation I was pleasantly surprised by then unoily and smooth texture( idk if that's then correct word sorry! ) on my face. Also when applied a brush I found that the foundation left a good finish.

Another thing that I noticed about this foundation however, is the sheerness of it. This property could be seen as both positive or negative depending on your skins needs. For example when I am having a good skin day I find this foundation gives just the right amount of coverage, but however, on days where I have breakouts on my skin I feel that the coverage of the foundation is not quite enough to keep the blemishes hidden. However with the use of a good concealer, ( I personally love collection 2000 lasting perfection concealer) I think the problem of coverage can be avoided.

Overall I think that for the price of the foundation, it is very good value for money, and I recommend it to any one who wants a relitively light coverage for their skin. However for those who seek a more opaque or covered look, this may not turn out as the perfect foundation for you!

I would love to hear your views and experiences with this product, and if anyone has any suggestions on certain products they would like me to review, I will of course consider them! Also I am open to reviewing sent items if I am first contacted via email, which is shown on my contact page!

Please feel free to comment!

P.S I'm really sorry for the quality of the photo, my camera is playing up!

Hello Again!

 Hello everyone!

For what seems like a lifetime I haven't posted on this blog, and I can only apologise as I have been super super busy with things such as school and exams (such fun not!). But now I am back once again, and I am determined to post more regularly, and change the subject of my blog ever so slightly.

Previously on this blog, my posts were a mismatch of subjects, hauls, tutorials, random lifestyle posts, and generally me rambling. But now I am going to try and structure my blog for fashion and beauty tutorials and reviews. Well if I can stick to that haha!

Anyway with that said, I want to thank any followers to sticking with me whilst I've been way to busy for my own good, and I promise a new blog post really really soon!

Lots of Love,

Samantha Natalie x
